To respect the local people and their cultural traditions. GOALS: The nutritional quality of the family diet will improve. Each child will continue in school or technical training until graduation. Children will benefit from the art education they receive in the program - in school, and in life. Children will exhibit emotional self-management skills, better organization, and increased responsibility in class, home and school. Mothers will improve their abilities to increase the family economic base through participation in the mother's group twice per week - wherein they receive some informational talks, and opportunity to cooperate and share traditional artisan task skills.. Mothers have the opportunity to participate in the Communal Garden, and attend the project's small store, where they learn to wait on customers, talk with foreigners, and handle inventory and cash. Members of the Parent Board will cooperate to produce the food distribution, organize the classroom cleaning teams, and make program decisions along with the Director.
