This project will enable students to explore their classroom knowledge of agriculture into practical agribusiness opportunities and innovations for income generation, job creation, and food security. AaP will support the establishment of school-based agribusiness and innovation projects for our Poetry X Hunger Clubs across 14 secondary schools in Uganda, Kenya and South Sudan.
Many young people complete school without the practical skills, experiences, and opportunities they need to thrive in food and agriculture. Agricultural education in many schools remains largely theoretical. Schools, Agriculture Teachers, and students often face challenges accessing learning resources, opportunities and support needed for the practical and impactful agricultural education.
This project will address the gap between theoretical learning and practical experience, AaP will work with schools, Agriculture Teachers and students through our Poetry X Hunger Clubs to provide guidance, learning resources, and support to enable students explore their classroom knowledge of agriculture into practical agribusiness opportunities and innovation for income generation, job creation, and food security.
By strengthening practical agricultural education in secondary schools, this project will equip young people with agribusiness and entrepreneurship skills to generate income, pursue self-employment, and create jobs. It will help address the gap between theoretical agricultural education and the practical skills young people need to build sustainable livelihoods and contribute to food security. Students, teachers, and schools will benefit from hands-on learning.
