Turkey Wildfires:

What's Happening and How to Help

Dozens of wildfires are burning across Turkey’s Mediterranean and Aegean region as the country battles its worst heatwave in decades. Extreme temperatures and high winds have ignited more than 180 fires since July 2021, destroying villages, critical infrastructure, and tourist destinations. More than 36,000 people have been evacuated, and thousands of first responders from around the globe are working to contain the fires. GlobalGiving’s vetted nonprofit partners are responding. All the projects below are supporting emergency relief efforts in Turkey.

Distribution Food basket in Ramazan Alkhair -Syria
The northern Syrian regions are one of the areas that suffer the most from difficult humanitarian conditions, as many of the residents in those areas live in difficult economic and social conditions, which makes the month of Ramadan an opportunity to provide assistance and aid. The Ramadan basket distribution project in northern Syria aims to provide food support to needy families, especially in light of the current circumstances.

GlobalGiving believes organizations that are deeply rooted in local communities are often in the best position to provide long-term support in and after a crisis. By funding the relief efforts of locally driven organizations, your donations have the potential to build stronger crisis-response capacity so that our nonprofit partners in the affected areas are better equipped for the future.
