PROGRAMMATIC QUESTIONS

QUESTION: Can you tell me more about this program and Riot Games?

ANSWER: Riot Games, a global video game company with over 100 million monthly active players, has held several charity fundraisers through their games throughout 2021 and wants to support high-impact, local nonprofits in the regions where their players reside. Earlier this year, Riot invited their players to submit stories and recommendations of nonprofits that create tremendous impact for their communities. Players all over the world submitted over 19,000 entries. Of these, Riot has nominated 30 nonprofits around the world that they want to support with a $10,000 general operating grant on behalf of their players.

Through their regional offices, Riot has identified your organization as one that is high-impact, very meaningful to the local community, and one they would want to support with grant funding. They would very much look forward to including your organization in their campaign and sharing your impact with their community of players. The grants process will be managed by us, GlobalGiving, as Riot’s grantmaking partner.

QUESTION: Who is GlobalGiving?

ANSWER: GlobalGiving is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting community-led organizations around the world. Since 2002, we’ve helped trusted, community-led organizations from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe (and hundreds of places in between) access the tools, training, and support they need to serve their communities. We are able to provide funding support by partnering with companies, like Riot Games, in their philanthropic work.
