Home based care parcels have been such a success these past months and have allowed our patients to receive weekly nutritional parcels. Our Medical volunteers do an incredible job checking in on their health and then distributing the packages. The food parcels include potatoes, can of beans, milk, and bananas.
Further, this fund has allowed to purchase necessary items to keep our medical patients healthy whenever they cannot afford to buy certain medication or nutritional supplements. We have recently provided cranberry tablets and wound care ointment to one of our medical patients. Little baggies have also been purchased to evenly and ethically distribute medications.
Additionally, our wonderful partner Eco-Lodge has recently donated a very large amount, 30 kgs!, of e-pap to assist with our nutrition program. We now have the opportunity to provide this much needed e-pap once a week when we go to visit our patients.
Finally, Women’s Support Group have discussed and made plans to build a chicken coop and raise chickens as an income generating activity. Further, both support groups are renovating their gardens and have amazing plans to extend and grow their original garden. We are so thrilled to watch their enthusiasm surrounding these two projects!
We are so eager to continue this year supporting our Home Based Care patients and we could not continue to support these patients without your dedication towards the program!
