A big thankyou from Help the Aged!

By Jason Bowles | Fundraising Manager

We would just like to thank all of you that have already donated to this project. Your donations are vital and greatly received. We cannot thank you enough.

This funding will enable us to help marginalised older people who are in desperate need of food, blankets, and washing facilities to protect them from the night-time cold and disease.

Your donation will help towards things such as:

A mosquito net to protect an older person from getting malaria A food package for one person for one month A blanket to keep an older person warm We still have a long way to go to meet our target so we would appreciate it if you would help us by telling your friends and family about our projects and how they can help too.

Why we need you

More than one in ten of the poorest people in the world are over 60. Many are trying to survive on less than a dollar per day, often whilst caring for grandchildren orphaned by the AIDS epidemic. In these exhausting circumstances, it is almost impossible to move on from a life of grinding poverty.

These people need your support. Their grandchildren and their communities depend on them, but without enough food, the right medicines and the resources to make a living in the long term, life is very, very hard.

You can make a difference. Projects funded through Sponsor a Grandparent are changing lives overseas - not just one life, but the lives of a whole community.

You'll know you're helping

When you sponsor a grandparent, you are changing lives and you get to share in the hope that your support makes possible. This is a two-way relationship and that's what makes it special.

In return for your sponsorship, you'll receive a photo of your grandparent and details of their life and community, and information on the country they live in - you can download or receive these by email as soon as you sign up.

Twice a year, you'll hear the latest news from your grandparent, letting you know how they and their community are getting on and how your money is making a difference. You'll also receive a Sponsor a Grandparent newsletter three times a year, keeping you up to date with the work we do all over the world.

Send some love

Send your love by supporting grandparents and the children and communities who depend on them. For £15 a month you can change lives overseas for the better forever.

Thank you once again for your support.
