Greetings from Zanzibar!
We're thrilled to share the remarkable progress we've made since our last update. In July, a significant milestone was achieved as we secured our Zanzibar Vocational Training Authority (VTA) Registration, marking the beginning of our program in Small Tourism Business Entrepreneurship: Tourism Business Management & Planning. This accomplishment has paved the way for empowering our students with comprehensive vocational training.
Our fully-equipped computer classroom, now boasting all 24 computers, stands as a cornerstone of this program. Our students are utilizing these computers for an array of essential tasks, such as crafting mind maps to foster innovative business ideas, constructing business model canvases, defining value propositions, and formulating mission and vision statements. These tools enable our students to develop robust and strategic business plans.
We’re excited to share that each student now possesses their own Welcome Ideas student email address. This marks a significant step, as for most of our students, this is their initial experience with email communication. Over the past few weeks, they've enthusiastically embraced this opportunity, engaging in email correspondence, creating contact lists, and acquainting themselves with the features of Microsoft Outlook.
In addition, our students have begun email correspondence within their classes. This practice not only hones their communication skills but also acquaints them with customer and investor interactions. With each email sent, they are learning the art of effective communication, laying the groundwork for their future roles as entrepreneurs in the tourism industry.
While we're making great strides, we still need to raise about $2500 to cover the cost of essential software for our computer systems and networking hardware & supplies. Your continued support is pivotal to our progress. With your assistance, we're eagerly anticipating the expansion of our IT curriculum, further enhancing our students' skills and opportunities.
Thank you for being an integral part of our journey. Together, we're paving the way for our students' success and contributing to a brighter future.
Warm regards,
Kenn
