Dear Sponsors,
We write with heavy hearts to share the reality of what the people in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is facing.
In recent months, rebel activity—particularly involving Rwandan rebel groups—has deeply affected several towns. Schools have been forced to close, families have been displaced, and daily life has been upended. Even our country director has been directly impacted, as the army took control of his city, Goma.
Our local volunteer is currently unable to visit the school due to the danger posed by ongoing violence. Travel has become unsafe, and the risk to civilians is heartbreaking. Despite these challenges, we are relieved to share that the children remain safe. However, their education and routines have been disrupted, and we know how difficult this is for them and their families.
We understand how much you care about the children and their well-being, and we’re truly sorry for the lack of updates in recent months. Please know that your support means the world to us—it brings hope and strength during these uncertain times.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and promise to resume updates as soon as it is safe to do so. Thank you for standing with us, for your compassion, and for being part of this journey.
Regards,
Sam Voumu
