The Summer Village Youth Club provided a 3 week program in July and started with three days of field trips. One to kayak with the Aurora Outdoor Recreation Program, then to the Museum of Nature and Science, then one to a Colorado Rockies Baseball Game.
The second two weeks of the Summer Village Youth Club the JEKL Foundation provided STEAM classes on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons. This was a Project Based STEAM Camp for 15 students. GENIUS WORKSHOPS gave students a culturally responsive and interactive experience in STEM including Art+design (STEAM) that excited them about their futures in STEAM. SCALABLE GAME DESIGN (SGD) provided students an opportunity to develop computational thinking skills as they designed and created video games and simulations that were stored on an international arcade!
The youth loved this experience!
