The “International Kids Club” continues to be a florish as an anchor for our children in our community. As we continue to focus on meeting the academic and wellness needs of middle school students from international backgrounds, several new developments and changes to the program are underway.

In honor of the empowerment and our community feeling a sense of belonging we commissioned and unveiled a 42 foot mural in our Sanctuary space created by Thomas Evans. We highlighted our first International Kids Club member who remains one of our loyal members.

Our MSW interns through the Denver University Graduate School of Social Work, are continuing to develop and implement a social-emotional learning curriculum. Our volunteer base continues to grow with the goal of expanding our tutoring program to ensure every young person in our program has the individual attention and academic support they need to succeed in school. Still looking for more tutors!

Our 15-seater van was stolen over the summer, and we have a replacement! This allows us to be able to shuttle more kids from school to the center and then home after dark. It also opens up more opportunities for field trips to the recreation center for swim days, the Denver Art Museum, the Denver Zoo and other fun learning opportunities in Denver and the surrounding region! We also just just secured a second van as a donation by Amina Auto Repair, for the same purpose.

We continue to grow our program and have many exciting programs to role out this semester! Stay tuned for our next report.
