The project's essence is to develop community builders, changemakers, and leaders in small communities of Ukraine through the Youth Banks model. We strengthen and expand 22 active YBU teams, supporting 60+ local projects. Youth are involved not only in initiatives but also in project management, gaining real experience and shaping the program via a publicly elected youth team working alongside the project manager.
Young people from small communities in Ukraine (especially those in frontline or underdeveloped settlements) do not have sufficient civic engagement and leadership opportunities. The lack of resources, mentors, and support structures leads to social isolation, reduced participation in community life, and distrust of local authorities. As a result, motivated young people are forced to emigrate in search of better prospects or remain passive observers rather than active agents of change.
The essence of the project is to develop community-builders, changemakers, and leaders in small communities of Ukraine by involving young people in public activity, supporting their initiatives, and providing them with practical experience through the international model of Youth Banks of Initiatives (YBI).
1. Our goal is to build on foundation we have the number of teams to 35, enhancing their capacity, and providing them with additional resources, training, and mentorship. 2. Our goal is to have a Youth Bank in every community in Ukraine - to shift how adults see young people by showing they can take real responsibility. Too often youth are not heard, not asked, and not included - we want to change that by giving them the tools and influence to shape their towns, villages, and regions.
