Despite the fact that the project has raised $128 toward its $36,800 goal, we sincerely thank GlobalGiving and the donors who have contributed to “Generosity for Orphans & Most Vulnerable Children.” Every contribution demonstrates solidarity with children facing difficult circumstances in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. The project remains highly relevant because children in North Kivu, particularly in Goma, continue to experience the consequences of ongoing insecurity, displacement, family separation, economic hardship, and disruption of essential services. Orphans and other highly vulnerable children are among those most affected when families and communities lose their ability to meet basic needs. Continued visibility of this project on the GlobalGiving platform is therefore extremely important. It helps keep the situation and needs of vulnerable children visible to the international community and gives the project an opportunity to reach people and partners who may wish to learn more about the challenges facing children in this conflict-affected region.
The current security and operational environment has also created serious challenges for project implementation. The occupation of Goma and the disruption of normal services have affected access to banking and financial services. As a result, we have faced significant difficulties accessing our organization's bank account and therefore accessing the donated funds needed to conduct planned activities on the ground. In addition, the amount currently raised is still insufficient to implement the project at its intended scale. Nevertheless, Blessed Aid remains committed to the project's objectives and to supporting orphans and the most vulnerable children as conditions permit. We continue to monitor the situation and assess safe and legally compliant ways to access and manage available resources. We will provide transparent updates on implementation progress, challenges, and the evolving needs of vulnerable children, while continuing to ensure that their situation remains visible and that they are not forgotten during this difficult period.
