Since the launch of the project “Generosity for Orphans & Most Vulnerable Children” (#64166) on the GlobalGiving platform, we are grateful to share that we have received an initial amount of USD 127 out of the USD 36,800 goal. We would like to sincerely thank all donors who have already contributed to this initiative. Your generosity, even at this early stage, represents a meaningful step toward improving the lives of vulnerable children in our communities and gives hope to those facing extremely difficult conditions.
However, the implementation of activities has been significantly affected by the current security and economic situation in eastern DRC. Following the presence of the M23 armed group in early January 2025, most banks in Goma were temporarily closed or disrupted. As a result, accessing the limited funds received has been challenging, as operational banking services are currently more available in areas such as Beni, which is geographically distant and difficult to reach under the current conditions. This situation has created delays in withdrawing funds and initiating planned interventions.
Despite these constraints, we remain fully committed to this project and continue to prepare for effective implementation as soon as access to funds is stabilized. The needs of orphans and vulnerable children remain urgent, and many are still without adequate support for food, education, and protection. We therefore kindly appeal for continued generosity and support from donors and partners. Every contribution counts and brings us closer to delivering meaningful assistance to children in need.
