Dear friends,
Mano Amiga is a work that promotes the comprehensive development of people with fewer opportunities, through education as the main engine to break the cycle of poverty, complemented with basic support in food, health and training for economic entrepreneurship, with the in order to achieve the positive transformation of society.
It is a socio-educational project, located in Fila de Turgua, rural area of the El Hatillo Municipality, and in Fila de Mariches, Miranda State. We currently have 300 and 800 students, from preschool to 5th year of high school. With 20 and 30 years of work in Venezuela.
In addition to institutional schooling, we offer:
*Daily food (Turgua)
*Water for 400 families in Turgua, from our well
*Care Center (with Pediatrics, Gynecology and Dentistry services).
*Entrepreneurship workshops for mothers.
*Delivery of food, diapers and medicines to those most in need.
*Cupboard.
*Accompaniment to our graduates at universities.
Much more because our work begins from the moment they are born, until they form healthy families.
Furthermore, Mano Amiga does not end its work with high school graduates, it continues to support and accompany our graduates in their professional training, because we know that the shortcomings are so many (transport, food, internet, clothing, etc.) that if it does not continue providing them with our Helping Hand, they end up deserting. That is why we are working on a pilot project for a university residence for our graduates.
At Mano Amiga we do not want high school graduates, we want well-rounded, professional men and women, capable of forming good families and who manage to transform their environment on their own.
For 6 years we recommend giving 1 full meal a day to our students, because they do not
They fed well, we even had several cases of malnutrition, so school performance
decreased greatly and school dropouts increased considerably. This alarmed us and we decided
Take care of ourselves, because a hungry child cannot study. Then the pandemic came and we started giving them
lunch, to cook at school and distribute it to the children's homes, with the help of a group of
motorized. The result has been very good, because we have not had cases of malnutrition again and the
children manage to study. However, currently our income has been greatly affected and we cannot
cover food costs, that's why we need help.
Thanks to the support of all of you, our children are healthier every day and can study and be happy, however we still have a long way to go and continue to need support. Malnutrition has seriously affected the physical and cognitive health of our children. Malnutrition causes irreversible damage. That is why we should always avoid it. We thank you for your continued support of our healthy children.
