Thanks to the support of our wonderful members work has started in earnest on the infrastructure on Tchindzoulou Island. Tchindzoulou will be the first of the three islands to be made ready to house 60 of the larger chimpanzees from The Tchimpounga Chimpanzee Rehabilitation Centre.
New panels have now arrived at Tchindzoulou Island and will be erected in the coming months. While the panels were being made, friends, volunteers and staff at Adelaide Zoo kindly donated and hand-made 100 hammocks for the chimps. The hammocks are made out of fire hose, which means they will last a very long time. It took approximately two days to make each hammock, which shows true dedication from these volunteers.
