While many families celebrate Christmas and the New Year with loved ones, frontline health workers and volunteers continue caring for the sick, saving lives, and serving communities in need. Many work long hours with little recognition, sometimes sacrificing time with their own families. This Christmas, we want to remind them that their sacrifices are not forgotten. Your donation will help provide Christmas food packages, groceries, and year-end appreciation gifts to frontline health workers.
Behind every patient receiving care is a health worker or volunteer making personal sacrifices. In Nigeria, many frontline health workers face demanding workloads, financial pressures, and limited resources. According to WHO, Nigeria has fewer than 2.5 doctors, nurses, and midwives per 1,000 people, placing pressure on its health workforce. Yet many continue serving vulnerable communities, even during Christmas. Their sacrifices deserve recognition, encouragement, and support.
This project will provide Christmas food packages, groceries, and year-end appreciation gifts to frontline health workers and community health volunteers in Nigeria. These gifts will help ease household expenses during the festive season and remind recipients that their service is valued. We will prioritize health workers and volunteers serving disadvantaged communities, including those supporting rural healthcare, maternal health, and humanitarian activities.
A simple Christmas gift may not solve every challenge a frontline health worker faces, but it can remind them that someone sees their sacrifices and cares about their struggles. Food packages and household support will bring temporary relief to workers and their families, while appreciation can lift their spirits after a demanding year. We hope this kindness will encourage health workers to continue serving vulnerable communities, knowing their hard work and compassion have not gone unnoticed.
