By Laura Dries & David Gaus | Project Leaders
Dear Friends of Andean Health & Development,
Thank you for your past donation to our Global Giving project to purchase an x-ray machine in our new hospital in Santo Domingo, Ecuador. We have raised $5,290 for this machine thanks to the support of all of you. This machine will properly diagnose kids and babies with things like fractures and pneumonia and will improve the entire community of 500,000. View the project description here.
The machine will be operated by local health care professionals trained by Andean Health and Development's Physician Residency and Nurse Training Program. The new hospital will educate local doctors and nurses to be tomorrow's leaders in rural health in Latin America.
Thank you so much for your donation. We hope to reach our goal of $23,500 by August of 2011 when we will open the doors to Hospital Santo Domingo.
Gratefully,
Laura Dries & David Gaus
