Tutoring Prostituted Youth for the High School Diploma
In 2021, we tutored 2,881 hours to 93 prostituted youth in 13 States.
Since our meager beginnings, we have helped over 250 prostituted youth obtain their high school diploma.
60% of our prostituted youth were under the age of 30, 45% between 18 & 24 years old and 1 under the age of 17.
87% of our students were female, 11% male and 1% transgender.
44% were Latino, 31% African American, 17% were Caucasian, 5% identified as Bi-Racial and 2% were Native American.
In 2021, 8 passed the high school exam and 35 passed portions (4 portions – math being the most challenging).
Most prostituted youth who enroll in our tutoring program are referred by older prostitute programs – those serving youth 18 and over. Since a student my be at least 18 years old our tutoring program is critical to children and youth who did not graduate high school and need a 2nd chance.
Social workers refer many of our students who are prostituted youth aging out of foster care.
