I am Setu, I was born on 24-02-2003 and live at www.mysetu.org. During my initial years I was trying to find my feet and in 2007 I started endeavouring to Enable the Growth of Children and Youth, Empowerment of Girl child / Women and Caring for Human Health. In the year 2007, I started grooming “Out of School” children at my grooming centres across Delhi and NCR. Over 700 children we admitted into various schools in 2008 for formal education. I also decided to pick up 60 Girls for a Special Education Scholarship till they complete their school education. In 2008, I moved from Grooming into Formal education as I found this model more sustainable as it ensured continuous and quality education to Unserved Children. My school in Nithari Village Noida is now 8 Years old and I have 294 children getting educated in 2 shifts with all facilities required for good Education.
As my wings grew I forayed into Skilling the under-served for employment. The idea I had in mind was to cater to the illiterate, Semi- literate and Literate. In 2012 my first Skill centre was launched offering Digital Learning and Tailoring Skills. As I grew older I offered skills in Digital Learning, Low End Tailoring, Hand Embroidery and High-end Tailoring on Industrial Machines across Delhi, Pondicherry, Trichy, Noida and Ghaziabad to over 2770 people including 118 with special needs. In 2015, when I was in the 9th year of my career, I set up a Multi-Skills Centre in Noida offering courses in Digital Learning, Health Care, Tailoring ,Hand Embroidery and Beauty & Wellness under the Setu Women Empowerment and Employability program. The Centres is currently catering to over 225 students per Quarter. Over the last 4 years I have successfully skilled 3709 people out of which 3097 are women and have placed 1545 of them into jobs.
Currently I are focusing on NCR area, Empowering thru Education at my school in Nithari Village Noida and Empowering thru Skilling and Employability (Primarily the Girl Child and Women) at my Skill Centres In Noida. I also love to conduct General Health Camps, Dental Care Camps , Eye Care camps and Blood Donation Camps to help the Under-served along with Workshops on Prevention of Child Abuse and Sexual Harassment at Work Place across NCR.
My Dream is to work with like-minded people and Corporates to fulfil their and my aspiration of Empowering the Under-served thereby leading to achievement of my Mission – “Skill and Empower the Un-served” therefore I am also ready to take up any new project offered to me.
