Dear Readers

Setu remained undeterred despite Covid19 situation around but with caution. During the last quarter Oct to Dec 20 our endeavour to Skill and Empower the under –served continued. Slowly we adapted to the new normal. Education activities though majorly conducted online continued, however with social distancing the students of Class 9 to 12 starting coming to School. The women empowerment Vocational Skill Programs which were being conducted online also stated offline in a phased manner.

Project “ Saksham”

Despite lockdown classes continued at our Skill centres, initially online then in hybrid mode with some students attending online and some of them attending physically at the centre. During the Quarter 687 students enrolled for students, 340 students were certified and 99 were placed.

We did not have many celebrations due to social distancing norms but at our new centre at Village Laliya Ka Bas Jaipur we celebrated Diwali and Xmas. Vishwakarma Puja and Diwali Puja was organised at our Noida centres also. Many students participated.

Success Stories:

Sonika belongs from a lower middle class family. She has dream of doing something in her life and be independent.  She wanted to do job but lack of skill let her down. After three months training programme in Basic IT & English Speaking, she started her job in Suprajit Phoenix Pvt Ltd. Now, she is earning Rs 8000 per month. Her family has 5 members and family’s annual income is not fixed but somehow managed to earn Rs 96,000 per annum. She has been able to fulfilling daily needs along with tuition fees of two siblings was challenging. Her income helps in strengthening family’s financial situation. Her family’s annual income increased by 100%.

Pragya belongs from a lower middle class family. She has dream of doing something in her life and be independent.  She wants to do job but lack of skill let her down. She completed Basic IT & English Speaking at SETU and she started her job in Kaveri Informatics and earns Rs. 8000 per month.  Her family’s annual income increased by 85%.
