Dear Donors,
We just wanted to share with the narrative report of the following activities undertaken during this quarter. The training sessions have been organized to the beneficiaries,
With purpose of capacity building beneficiaries, they undergo a training programme run by Aspire Rwanda. The training includes a workshop covering the five pillars of involvement in the programme: Breeding, Nutrition, Housing, Health, Management and record keeping. This training was focused on how share of pigs will work among beneficiaries,
The first group of beneficiaries were selected at the first round to be given pigs ,When these pigs will give birth to new offspring (most of times, one pig gives birth to more than 10 offspring) , this time the beneficiaries will pass on only 2 baby pigs to the new beneficiaries, and others do the same respectively. So this transfer from the first group to their followers in a harmonized way is called “Kuziturirana” or “ROTATION”
Kuziturirana process has a very big positive impact on economic empowerment families as this may reach more beneficiaries quickly and at a reasonable cost, and in the long term, it will be possible to reach other members of the communities. The beneficiaries understand well this program to support each other.
In our continued efforts to enable vulnerable families move out of poverty through our different interventions, last week, Aspire Rwanda beneficiaries supported to new group of beneficiaries with piglets. We expect to see improved living conditions among these families as they all expressed commitments to take a good care of the received piglets in order to maximize profit - from manure to other income etc.
Let's keep joining our efforts in supporting the most vulnerable!
