As part of our project supporting women and girls who have experienced violence, we continue to provide regular psychological assistance. On average, our specialists conduct around 11 individual psychological consultations each month. These sessions provide participants with a safe and confidential space to work through the consequences of traumatic experiences, emotional stress, anxiety, relationship difficulties, and other challenges affecting their daily lives.
At the same time, we organize various group meetings focused on emotional recovery, strengthening personal resilience, developing self-support skills, and creating a safe space for communication and mutual support.
One of our most recent group sessions was held with the participation of a nutritionist and focused on nutrition, everyday habits, and taking care of one’s health. For us, this is not simply an educational topic, but an important part of a comprehensive recovery approach.
After experiencing violence or prolonged stress, women often focus primarily on overcoming a crisis, ensuring their family’s safety, and dealing with urgent everyday challenges. As a result, their own health and basic self-care may remain neglected for a long time.
Through such meetings, we help participants gradually return attention to their own needs. Conversations about nutrition, daily routines, physical well-being, and healthy habits become another way of reminding women that their own health and emotional state matter as well.
The group format is also particularly valuable. Participants have an opportunity not only to receive information from a specialist, but also to spend time with other women who may be facing similar life challenges. This helps reduce feelings of isolation, creates space for communication and mutual support, and supports a gradual return to a more stable and active daily life.
One participant described what she took away from the meeting:
“I realized that for a long time I had been thinking about everyone around me, but almost stopped thinking about myself. This meeting reminded me that taking care of my health and well-being is important too.”
For our team, these seemingly small changes are significant. Recovery from violence rarely happens through a single consultation or one activity. It is a gradual process in which individual psychological support, safe communication, practical knowledge, and renewed self-care skills complement one another.
That is why our project combines individual psychological support, group sessions, and educational activities, helping women and girls not only cope with the consequences of violence, but also gradually regain a sense of stability, independence, and control over their lives.
Thank you for your continued support. With your help, we are able to remain alongside women and girls during difficult periods of their lives and continue providing access to psychological assistance, safe spaces, and practical knowledge that supports their recovery.
