Dear Friend
All around the Arctic Circle, trees are invading as the climate warms. In Norway, birch and pine are marching poleward, eclipsing the tundra. In Alaska, spruce are taking over from moss and lichen. Globally, recent research indicates forests are expanding along two-thirds of Earth’s 12,000-kilometer-long northern tree line. However, science is indicating that these expanded forest may not slow climate change.
We need more aggressive decarbonization and increased technical information will help provide the political will to move decision-makers in that direction. Your generosity enabled IAIA to make gains in implementing its Climate Change Action Plan. This includes:
Lastly, please know that your support has assisted significantly, however, the Polar Bears still need your help. In addition, our progress has been slowed due to a lack of funding. If you would please consider another gift the project, we only have only raised $250 of a $360k goal. https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/wise-climate-change-action-using-impact-assessment/
Your partnership and support are vital to assisting IAIA meeting its mission. Thank you again.
