The 2024 Winter Warmer Homelessness Relief Campaign addressed homelessness and social isolation in Byron and Tweed Shire by providing essential items, health services, food, clothing and stability support to over 1,500 individuals, creating resilience and a strong community network.
Each of these projects reflects our commitment to fostering sustainable, supportive communities and empowering vulnerable individuals to build brighter, healthier futures.
Winter Warmer Homelesness Relief
Warmth and Hope in Winter: Helping Byron and Tweed Shire's Homeless with Essential Supplies & Food
Alleviation of suffering for homelessness and social isolation in Byron and Tweed Shires. Collaborating with local charities, the campaign supported 1,581 individuals by providing essentials such as blankets, tents, clothing, and food and fuel vouchers.

The campaign distributed food, gift cards and petrol vouchers to provide consistent access to food, winter essentials like high-quality tents, sleeping bags, and backpacks were provided for those sleeping rough. Access to prepaid mobile phones was also prioritised, enabling people to connect with housing services and mental health resources, essential for stability and well-being. Shelter and Safety Initiatives Temporary accommodation and shelter were arranged for individuals in need, particularly during extreme weather conditions. Transport support was provided to vulnerable individuals, such as those fleeing domestic violence or attending crucial health appointments, ensuring they could access the services they needed.
These project impacts demonstrate the transformative power of community-driven programs to uplift vulnerable populations across diverse regions.
