The Wildlife Rescue for 250 Animals in Katsina project is currently in its fundraising phase, with the full $10,000 budget still required to begin implementation. While no funds have been secured yet, project planning and stakeholder engagement activities have continued to ensure readiness once resources become available.
The team has identified priority intervention areas, established relationships with relevant wildlife and conservation stakeholders, and developed operational plans for rescue, veterinary treatment, rehabilitation, and release activities. These preparations position the project for rapid deployment as soon as funding is received.
Securing financial support remains the most critical need at this stage. The requested funding will cover emergency rescue operations, veterinary care, transportation, rehabilitation facilities, equipment, and community awareness initiatives aimed at reducing wildlife trafficking. Continued outreach to donors and supporters is underway to help close the funding gap and launch this vital conservation effort.
With adequate funding, the project will provide life-saving assistance to 250 endangered animals while contributing to the long-term protection of biodiversity and wildlife conservation in Northern Nigeria.
