Project Report | Jun 19, 2014
Summer 2014 at WildCare Inc.

By Jennifer Cunningham | Center Director

Baby Brown Bat
Baby Brown Bat

It's June 19th, and we're at the peak of our busy season!  Every room and cage is filled, and the outside cages are filled and babies inside waiting to go out in them.

Nearly 600 animals are currently in care, including hundreds of eastern cottontails, songbirds, Fox and Gray squirrels, Woodchucks, Mink, Wood Ducks, Raccoons, Skunks, Hawks and Owls, and more...

Every day at WildCare we are able to provide care for injured and orphaned wildlife--and accept new patients from the public, Thanks to each of you who donate to our cause!

As we continue caring for the tiniest newborn baby mammals, bottle feeding fawns whose momma lost their lives protecting their young or newly-hatched birds, we are also busy releasing those who are ready. Today, we released 6 Fox Squirrels and 4 songbirds. On Saturday of last week we had a very special release of two songbirds in memory of 2 young boys that were burned in a fire. It means a lot to us and the families.

Every one of the animals we help has a different story of how they came to us.  Each one is a fighter. We could not do what we do without each of you. Thank you for helping us create the happily ever after for all of our wildlife.
