WildCare Inc. provided care for 2654 animals in 2012,
more than double from 2011. 69 percent were successfully rehabilitated and
released.
Our
busiest months were April May, June when we admitted 1,442 of our
patients.
Animals
came from 8 different counties.
Every
release is cause for celebration, but we are especially thrilled at the
successful rehabilitation, release and subsequent successful integration into the
wild of our Sandhill Crane that came is early spring of 2012.—He came in
with a broken wing and covered in the sticky bug droppings from the trees. We
worked with him for a year making sure he had a proper diet. We performed PT on his wing every day until
he started flying. Then we placed him in a flight cage and allowed him to gain strength.
We released him at Goose Pond on April 14, 2013 and watched him soar
away. We are moving into the busy season once again and with your continued
support we will be ready.
This would not have been made possible without your gifts.
Often, when funds are low, it is the donations received from Global Giving that
provide a 'safety net' and provide the funds for food and supplies needed by
our wild patients.
Thank you for your support. We look forward to what we can
accomplish together in 2013!
