Hello all!
We hope this finds you happy and healthy. Boy, have these been some trying weeks, on many levels! On that note, I thought I would send everyone some happy pictures and a bit of an update to hopefully brighten your day.
As you know, pups needing help continue through events such as this AND the good news is, people are still looking to add wigglers to their families! We have seen many a happy pup and new family head off to start their lives together. Check out our adoption stories and photos on WHBR Facebook. As a donor, you are a part of this success. THANKS!
In past reports, we shared with you Benito's story. (main picture and pictured below) Found with a broken jaw and emaciated, he was in critical shape. Once stabilized he has undergone quite the surgery and recovery. His foster mother reports his droopy lip makes it a bit difficult for him to get his food down without slinging it everywhere but he is learning to get it done and slowly putting weight back on. The best update is that he is crazy about his new wobbly ball and plays with delight. PLAY being something it seemed he didn't know how to do until now. What a struggle he has had but wow what a success story. --- As donors, you can all pat yourselves on the back for being a part of his success. Without donations, we wouldn't be able to help a pup like Benito or worse yet, we couldn't exist. THANKS!
Buster and Ginger (pictured together below) were an emergency intake. Via amazing networking of those in the animal rescue world, we were alerted of their need to find shelter with a rescue. We said "YES, get them here!" and it started. Some good folks, who are not volunteers with us, started the transport and met up with our transport team who relayed them to the safety of their foster home. This save took quick decisions and action on the part of many. Cheers to those involved. Cheers to you for donating to WHBR so we can be there for events such as this. Have we said THANKS?
HELP... If you live in OR, WA, ID or MT could you PLEASE PLEASE help share Ted's need for a home. This boy has waited longer than a boy should. If we could please ask you to open TOGETHER WE CAN FIND TED A HOME and share his info on Petfinder with your friends maybe you will be the one to find him his forever home. THANKKKS
Have I ever asked if you would like to be a member of WHBR? Have time to help with blog writing? Graphics? Making phone calls? Fundraising (advice, participation, planning etc). If you are in CA, OR, WA, ID or MT how about operating a getaway car and being a part of our transport team? Check out our Volunteer page and see if there is a way to help. Becoming a volunteer doesn't mean you have to do it the rest of your life (but we think you will dig the high you get from it), there are no mandatory minimums, etc. We're easy. We have several positions which can be completed from the comfort of your home, in your jammies if you like! I'm in mine now!
Signing off I have included are some shots of WHBR alumni gussied up for Easter. What cuties.
