Hello to all,
As many of you know, this report goes to all who have donated to the survival of abused and neglected Boxers brought in by WHBR. Normally our reports catch you up on past cases as well as sharing our newest pups and their needs. Today I decided not to go that route, and instead share with you a sweet old gal who is new-ish to the rescue, as well as happy photos of our adopted pups.
Miracle (first picture found below) is yet another senior found in a shelter. Knowing her fate, our president DeAnn just couldn't leave her behind. Eight years old, blind and partially deaf, she was also shut down to the world. It has taken the gentle hand of her foster Mom, warm quiet days, and a loving routine to get her to finally raise her head and show some trust.
Don't be sad - she will be juuuust fine as she is in excellent hands!
This morning, I posted to our WHBR Adopters Facebook page saying I would like to share their photos with all of you. As expected, by mid-afternoon, I had a slew of photos to sort through and used here. Know that each of these pups are happy and healthy, living in their forever homes because of the generosity of each of you.
And before I sign off... in the past days we have seen and heard the many ways people are coming together to help one another. I've yet to see much of a focus on pets and the already overburdened shelters (maybe I've missed it). We know many are, could be, or will be facing a financial crisis, some in your very circle of friends, family, and acquaintances. Those with pets could be struggling with the awful decision of being able to afford to keep their pet. If you know of someone having a hard time, a bit of help could make the difference between keeping a beloved pet and having to part with it. If one must part with a pet please advise on finding a rescue rather than a shelter. -Together, there are so many ways we can help to keep pets safe in their homes and their owner's hearts whole through these difficult times.
May these pictures bring you a smile.
The Wigglin' Home Boxer Volunteer team and Adoptive families wish you the very best in the coming days and months.
Hugs to all! Yes, virtual hugs are allowed!
