The lack of toilets means that children attending schools without toilets continue to defecate outside in the bushes or bodies of water. Our plan was to build 6 pit latrines for approximately 3000 children in 4 primary schools total 24 toilets in Bauchi and Gombe States.
Our initial funding target was £21,000, however, at the end of the accelarator event, Umma Global Foundation was only able to raise £1,979.00.
The Board decision was to go ahead and built 6 toilets unit at the school in most desparate need.
The Cordinator in Bauchi and Gombe was asked to do an analysis of the 4 schools and make recomendation.
His recommendation is that a school in Bauchi State at Inkil is the one with the most desparate need.
This project have now started.
The initail budget was that the amount raised should be enough, however, as with most 3rd word countries, price raise on material has tripled.
Attached are plan drawing, site and initial building work for information.
Budget will be reported on at the end of the building project.
