Project Report | Nov 17, 2016
Bike Collection Jame Madison High School Dec. 3rd

By Dixie Duncan | Executive Director

Wheels to Africa will have a bike collection at James Madison High School, Vienna, Virginia on December 3rd, 2016.  Other bikes collections in the DC metro area will take place on December 10th, 2016.

Please check the website www.wheels-to-africa.org for additional details.

Wheels to Africa is an all VOLUNTEER organization that is lead by youth.

The bikes collected in 2016 will be sent to Tanzania, Cameroon, and Ethopia.  We are working on partnerships in these countries to distribution the bikes to women and children.  The major obstacle for bike distribution is cost for shipping as well as the additional tariffs and bribes facing the bikes when they reach the African continent.  If you know anyone with connections in Africa please contact us so we can explore a partnership.

Wheels to Africa creates opportunities where young Americans build strong leadership skills.  American youth learn to advertise and market their bike collection and organize their friends and community to engage in recycle opportunities for old bikes.  American Youth engage in civic action to enable their own communities as well as the communities thousands of miles away to "Change a Life, One bike at a time!"
