Off to Tanzania to deliver 500 bikes

By Dixie Duncan | Changing Lives One Bike at a Time!

Dixie Duncan is off to Tanzania to delivery bikes to various organizations in and around Dar and Arusha.  I will taking school supplies and other donations received from supporters of Wheels to Africa.  I will post information about the distribution weekly. I cannot wait to see the faces of individuals who receive our donations -- YOU will see them also.

One of the organizations that will receive our bikes is "Under the Same Sun Tanzania" which assist albinos with many things.  In Tanzania some people believe Albinos have special powers so they are targets of violence.  I will delivering supplies to them and bikes.  We are hoping the donations will bring joy to their life and help them improve their everyday quality of life.

Another organziation is Umoja which is a technical school that assists young adults with education as well as providing mental and physical support.  This school enables students who cannot attend government high schools the opportunity to continue their education.  We will be donating bikes so these individuals can travel to school.  Last year one of the students shared his story -- "If I take 20 cents to ride the bus to school, my family will not have money for food.  This bike will enable my family to eat and it will save me time because I will be able to get school quicker than taking a bus.!"

More stories of the people that receive the benefits of your donations.
