Restoring Mobility for Persons with Disabilities

By Ikechukwu Kelechukwu | Project Lead

Dear Donors,

We are excited to share an important update on our Disability Support, Wheelchair Donation, and Mobility Aid Project in Nigeria. This initiative is focused on improving the lives of physically challenged individuals by providing durable wheelchairs, assistive devices, and inclusive support services to those who need them most.

Across underserved communities, many people living with disabilities remain homebound, excluded from education, healthcare access, and livelihood opportunities due to lack of mobility aids. Through your support, we are taking bold steps toward disability inclusion, social protection, and poverty reduction.

What We’ve Achieved So Far

  • Completed identification and verification of 143 vulnerable beneficiaries in high-need communities
  • Partnered with local stakeholders to ensure transparent distribution and community engagement
  • Initiated procurement of high-quality, durable wheelchairs designed for long-term use
  • Developed a mobility training and user-support plan to ensure safety and sustainability

Why This Matters

Access to a wheelchair is more than mobility; it is freedom, independence, and dignity. With proper assistive devices, beneficiaries can:

  • Return to school and access inclusive education
  • Engage in income-generating activities and employment
  • Improve their physical and mental health
  • Participate actively in community and social life

This project aligns with global priorities on disability rights, inclusive development, humanitarian support, and sustainable development goals (SDGs), especially SDG 3 (Good Health & Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).

What’s Next

We are moving into the final phase of procurement and distribution, which will include:

  • Delivery of wheelchairs to all 143 beneficiaries
  • Hands-on mobility and usage training
  • Post-distribution monitoring and evaluation to measure impact

How You Can Help

We urgently need your support to reach our goal. Your donation will directly provide life-changing mobility assistance to individuals who are currently unable to move freely.

Every contribution counts:

  • $50 supports mobility training and follow-up care
  • $250 contributes toward a durable wheelchair
  • $1,000+ helps sponsor multiple beneficiaries

Donate now to support wheelchair access, disability empowerment, and inclusive humanitarian impact.

Together, we can break barriers, restore dignity, and create a more inclusive Nigeria where no one is left behind.

Thank you for being part of this life-changing journey.
