Thank you all so much for your support of WeSurvive!
We are writing with exciting news! The WeSurvive, Stories of the Ebola Outbreak oral history collection is now available and accessible. Our partner Emory University recently launched the collection and will be planning an opening ceremony this Fall.
Here is the link to the collection, https://aviary.libraries.emory.edu/collections/2078.
The Emory team is still in the process of adding aesthetic pieces and some metadata in the coming days, but we are thrilled that the collection is live and available for people to explore. Please reach out to us with any ideas or questions about the collection.
This will be our final report for this project, and if you would like to continue to support the work of the media makers at the WeOwnTv Freetown Media Centre we ask that you support our filmmaker fellowship program: https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/weowntv-filmmaker-fellowship/
Again, thank you all so much for your generous contributions to WeSurvive. We want to express our profound gratitude to all of you who have supported the work to date. Thank you to everyone at the WeOwnTV Freetown Media Centre, from the translators to the camera crew, the interviewers, and the editorial staff.
Most importantly we want to thank all of the interviewees who shared their stories with us, many of them still living in quarantined homes during the interviews, coping with a kind of loss not many have experienced. Thank you for your invaluable contributions, in the words of Auntie Sia, ‘our words will not go in vain."
With Gratitude,
Baker, Barmmy, Arthur, and the entire team at WeOwnTV
