During this last period we were able to get closer to our goal of reaching of $10,000 to support the services of West Women's and Children's Shelter for survivors of domestic violence and their children. Currently we have raised $5,256 towards our $10,000 goal.
With your help we are able to cover the costs of emergency shelter for domestic violence survivors and their children. Services supported by your generous donations include; advocacy, case management, support groups, meals for residents of the shelter, child care for families, school enrollment for children, rental subsidies for survivors moving into permanent housing, educational awards for survivors returning to school, and occupancy fees for emergency shelter.
In 2011, we answered 5,316 crisis calls, provided emergency shelter to 154 women and children, stabilized 67 women and children within our two year transitional housing program, and utilized over 4,856 volunteer hours to accomplish our work. With your help we are getting closer to our goal of ending the cycle of domestic violence. Thank you for supporting us in our mission to create a safe nurturing environment for survivors to realize their potential for healing and growth as we work together to end domestic violence.
