WeOwnTV: Idriss Kpange Filmmaker Fellowship

Thnak you all so much for your support of the WeOwnTV Idriss Kpange Filmmaker Fellowship. We are reaching out with two exciting updates. But before we get into updates I want to let you know WeOnnTV has been selected to recieve matching funds. From March 25-28, we will be participating in GlobalGiving's Little by Little campaign! 1) Fellowship Update:  Jonathan has completed the second phase of the editing process with a 17-minutes cut at hand film, which explores his personal journey with drug addiction. The mentorship he recieved from WeOwnTV has played a key role in enhancing his production skills, the film’s emotional depth and storytelling. Through hands-on involvement in the editing process, he has refined the narrative, ensuring that each scene conveys the intensity and struggle of addiction. His commitment to the craft has resulted in a powerful and authentic film that not only tells his own story but also resonates with many young people facing similar challenges.This journey still continues with daily struggles and the pressure to survive the hostile environment around him and walk in a clean path with hopes and dreams. This journey is the beginning of a healing process for Jonathan.

2) We have begun the process of visioning a new future for WeOwnTV.

For the first two queeraters of 2025 we will be focussed on refining this new vision and ultimately launching a website that enables filmmakers in the collective to self distribute their films, build and cultivate new audiences and partners and raise funds for their projects in development. If you are interested in supporting this effort please give this week while the match is in place. We would also love to hear any ideas you have for us as we refine our goals as a collective.
