The last few months have been very trying in Nicaragua but thankfully the crisis in Nicaragua has begin to calm and classes have resumed across the country including in Leon, where many of our students attend University. It is difficult at times to really understand the severity of the crisis, and we know that there is a tremendous amount of work and healing that needs to occur before Nicaraguans can move forward, but we also know that the value of education is needed now more than ever in Nicaragua. We have to continue to support these students as they are the future and they are the ones who will lead to a better tomorrow for all.
Our program currently consists of 20 students but we do plan to expand this to 25 or even 30 students when the next academic year begins in February. Our current group has been asked to provide their most recent academic results as soon as possible so we do hope to share that during our next project report.
When they picked up their scholarship money in August many asked that we share their gratitude for your support and love for Nicaragua.
Thanks for believing in our students and the work we do!
