Phase 1 is Complete!

Rainwater capture guttering & storage tank
Rainwater capture guttering & storage tank

Phase 1 of our Rainwater Capture Project at the Sega Girls School is complete - thank you for helping to make this possible.

Gutters capturing rainwater run-off from the roof have been installed on all the campus buildings. Some of these are connected to 5,000 liter storage tanks, supplying water for drinking, cooking and watering the organic vegetable gardens.

We are now embarking on Phase 2, to fully supply the School with captured rainwater throughout the year.

We need to build a large underground storage tank, connected to the guttering from the campus buildings. Water from the storage tank will be treated and pumped to the campus via the water tower.

We are continuing to raise funds to complete Phase 2 of our project in the next few months, so that the Sega Girls School can operate on a renewable source of water, and is no longer reliant on purchasing water.

This is increasingly important as the Sega Girls School continues to expand; 58 excited new students joined the School in June.
