Summary

The "Warm Winter" charitable program focuses on protecting 2,394 vulnerable children residing in orphanages and family-type orphanages across 16 regions of Ukraine. Amid the war and constant power outages, these children are at severe risk from the cold. The program directly provides essential aid-warm clothing, footwear, heaters, and charging stations. This initiative ensures their health and safety, allowing them to endure the winter comfortably and safely, even during blackouts

Challenge

The problem is the heightened health and safety risk faced by 2,394 vulnerable children in orphanages, boarding schools, and displaced persons centers across 16 regions of Ukraine. Ongoing hostilities, frequent power outages, and harsh winter conditions leave these children without stable heating or adequate winter protection, significantly increasing the likelihood of cold-related illnesses and further deteriorating their well-being

Solution

The project provides vulnerable children with warm clothing, winter footwear, heaters, and charging stations to ensure safe heating during outages. By equipping institutions with essential winter supplies, improving preparedness for blackouts, and ensuring continuous access to warmth and power, the initiative reduces cold-related health risks and protects children's well-being throughout the winter

Long-Term Impact

By ensuring access to warmth, safe heating, and essential winter supplies, the project reduces illness and improves overall health for vulnerable children. It strengthens institutional preparedness for power outages, builds resilience among children and staff, and sets a model for winter safety in high-risk settings, contributing to long-term well-being and protection of children across Ukraine
