Her name is Yekaterina and she's six years old.
When we first saw her, she was in a wheelchair, curious to see what we're up to. And then she picked up a painbrush...
At the Haverim Therapy Workshop we show up every Wednesday evening at the Sheba Medical Center (Tel Hashomer). We're a bunch of volunteer art students and simply people, and every Wednesday is different. From the moment we take out the paints and easels - curious onlookers start to gather. And then to gravitate towards them.
We sit them down, offer a book full of ideas to copy, offer some technical pointers - and they're off.
Today she walks on her own and is a permanent member of our art rehab club! And thanks to her, we've started inviting more kids from the Rehabilitation department to join us.
Our needs are small: Easels, paints, brushes. Every donation helps.
