War does not end when families cross a border.
For many Sudanese refugees now living in Egypt, safety from conflict is only the beginning of a much longer journey. The violence they witnessed, the homes they lost, and the abuse many endured continue to shape daily life long after the immediate danger has passed.
Trauma often hides beneath the surface. It can appear as anxiety, depression, emotional numbness, difficulty trusting others, strained family relationships, or an overwhelming sense of hopelessness. Without support, these invisible wounds can affect not only individuals but entire families and communities for generations.
That is why this project exists.
Rather than focusing only on immediate relief, our goal is to equip refugee families with the knowledge, skills, and therapeutic support needed to begin genuine healing. Through trauma-informed education, individual therapy, and community support groups, we are helping survivors understand that what they are experiencing is a normal response to extraordinary circumstances—and that recovery is possible.
One of the most powerful aspects of this work is watching people realize they are not alone.
Many participants arrive believing they simply need to "be stronger." Instead, they discover that trauma changes how the brain and body respond to overwhelming experiences. Understanding this truth often becomes the first step toward freedom from shame and isolation.
Our training also extends beyond individual healing. We are equipping caregivers, parents, spouses, and community leaders with practical tools to recognize trauma, respond with compassion, and create emotionally safe environments where healing can continue long after formal sessions have ended. This community-based approach strengthens the support systems that refugees rely on every day and helps build resilience that lasts.
While every person's healing journey is unique, each conversation, therapy session, and educational workshop represents another step toward restoring dignity and hope.
None of this would be possible without partners like you.
Your generosity is helping transform communities affected by war—not simply by addressing immediate needs, but by investing in emotional healing, healthy relationships, and lasting recovery.
As this project continues to grow, we look forward to expanding trauma recovery education, increasing access to therapeutic care, and establishing stronger peer-support networks among Sudanese refugees in Egypt. Together, we are helping survivors move beyond survival and begin building lives marked by hope, resilience, and renewed purpose.
Thank you for standing alongside us as we walk with survivors on their journey from trauma toward healing. Every act of generosity reminds someone who has experienced unimaginable hardship that they have not been forgotten.
