Dear Partners,
We are delighted to be in touch once again. Your continued support has been instrumental in helping us extend our impact to more girls in diverse communities.
The Women’s Technology Empowerment Centre (W.TEC) is pleased to provide an update on our preparations for the 2026 She Creates Camp. Building on the success of the 2025 program, which trained 40 girls in eco-sustainability, the 2026 camp will focus on a critical national issue: leveraging technology to address insecurity in Nigeria. We are on track to host 40 girls for a two-week intensive program from August 9–22, 2026.
Program Overview
The 2026 She Creates Camp will bring together girls from diverse backgrounds to explore how technology can be used to create safer communities. The curriculum is designed to inspire and equip participants with the skills to become innovators and advocates for security solutions. This year, the camp will focus on AI and digital readiness. Participants will engage in a two-week program featuring:
- Hands-on Workshops: Coding, IoT, AI, and data analysis.
- Project Development: Creating prototypes to solve local security challenges.
- Expert Sessions: Lectures from professionals in the technology Field.
- Mentorship: Guidance from W.TEC facilitators and industry mentors.
We will employ a rigorous evaluation approach to measure impact, which includes pre- and post-camp tests to assess knowledge gain and shifts in interest.
Based on past performance, we anticipate the following outcomes:
- A significant increase in participants' interest in STEM careers.
- Enhanced awareness of technology’s role in addressing insecurity.
- The development of functional prototypes for safety solutions.
- High participant satisfaction and a strong recommendation rate.
We are confident that this year’s camp will empower 40 young girls to become active contributors to national security.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the GlobalGiving team and all partners for your unwavering support, which is instrumental to our success. We look forward to sharing the outcomes with you after the camp.
