The VITA team has successfully completed its training course on volunteerism and totally enjoyed volunteering for various organizations in Washington, DC regardless of cold weather and packed schedule!
The team managed to visit and volunteer for a variety of organizations and was involved in different activities, such as sorting out the donations with A Wider Circle, preparing meal for homeless at DC Central Kitchen, helping to build and design the Birds' House in the National Zoo, or preparing bikes for shipping with the Bikes for the World.
The teams are now back to their home countries, Turkey and Armenia, and plan similar activities for their communities.
Before leaving Washington DC they the team members had a chance to discuss their planned activities with the team leaders and professionals, and consult with them for better organization of the activities back home.
In summer all 12 participants of the VITA project will complete their follow-up activities, and start cooperating with local communities to implement more during the rest of the year.
HasNa team got lots of appreciation and great feedback on the project implementation and the wonderful experience everybody had in Washington, DC.
