What’s going on with the Volunteer Initiative in Turkey and Armenia? Since the latest update we have confirmed dates on when the participants will come to the United States to participate in intense and practical activities related to volunteerism and civic engagement. Not only will the participants learn what volunteerism is, but also they will have the opportunity to put their knowledge to us by serving as a volunteer with organizations in the DC metro area. The dates of the Washington, DC phase of the program have been selected for January 2014. In the meantime, HasNa and its partners have been very active in putting key program components together.
Here’s what we have done:
Over the course of the next few months, HasNa will continue to prepare for the participants arrival while simultaneously promoting communication and collaboration between the Turkish and Armenian teams. It is our goal to ensure that exceptional organizations in the DC metro area, whose mission focuses on the importance of volunteerism, will participate in the VITA program as both training and volunteer organizations. Finding valuable volunteer opportunities with a history of community impact will provide critical learning opportunities for the youth of both Turkey and Armenia.
Thank you so much for your support of both HasNa and the VITA program. Without your continuing support, this program would not be possible!! Thank you!
