The Volunteer in Portland commitee had a number of meaningful volunteer events in the past months including a book cleaning at Children's Book Bank in which enough books were cleaned and prepared to supply one and a half head start programs.
Shortly before Thanksgiving, JLP members preppred and served a Thanksgiving dinners for residents at Bradley Angle House. This provided a warm meal and a sense of home to those who have been displaced from their homes.
Just before Christmas members of the Junior League of Portland volunteered at Raphael House in their "holiday shop". Members assisted current and past residents with holiday shopping for their families. Without the holiday shop, many of these women and families would have no gifts for Christmas.
