Moving Forward Against All Odds

By Meira Weinstein | Partnerships Coordinator

It's been a difficult few months in Israel. Through weeks of sirens and missile fire, we kept both our Tel Aviv and Haifa branches running. During periods of active attack, when social services shut down, our staff stayed in constant contact with students, checking in after missile strikes and making sure everyone was safe.

Despite it all, Her Academy has continued to thrive by:

  • Expanding our vocational training for students who can't access the formal job market, including a new cake decorating course for refugee women without legal status. This course will enable them to earn additional income within their own communities, which will help cover the cost of rent and other basic necessities.
  • Growing our Employment Department, with 66% of participating students securing jobs and sustaining them for six months or more.
  • Opening doors to higher education for our alumni, several of whom are now pursuing formal academic studies for the first time in their lives. Her Academy arranges tutors to support them and provides scholarships to cover the cost of their studies.

One student told us this year: "Through the support and confidence I found at Her Academy, I suddenly know what it means to want to succeed. I know how to dare, and to stand up for myself without fear."

Looking ahead, we're opening a new Technology Hub in Tel Aviv in 2026, offering advanced courses in digital design, coding, and business software systems, to make sure our students have the most up-to-date technical skills for today's job market.

Thank you for standing with us as we keep building forward. Your partnership gives our students the chance to reclaim their lives one class, one job, one step at a time.

We'd be delighted to share more about any of these programs. Please feel free to reach out anytime at partnerships@heracademy.org.il.

With gratitude,
Her Academy Team
