Families like Carol's are being transformed!

By Chad Detwiler | President / CEO

Carol's roof tear off
Carol's roof tear off

Carol's home was impacted by a disaster.  The spring 2019 storms were heavy rains that created flooding accompanied by high winds.  These winds caused a tree branch to fall onto Carol's home and punch a hole clear through to the inside.

Carol did not enter into disaster case managment until April 2020 at which time ROAD was notified a tarp was needed.  After 13 months of weather ROAD installed a tarp, but only after interior damages had become worse.

Due to the COVID slow down of volunteer teams it would not be for another 10 months before ROAD could begin Carol's home repairs.  In February 2021 ROAD was awarded an NCCC AmeriCorps team who in conjunction with ROAD's Vocational Training Apprenticeship Program team was able to fully replace Carol's roof and make the needed interior repairs.

Through ROAD's project management service volunteers were able to provide 712 hours of labor valued at $16,340.40 making Carol's home home again completely free of charge to Carol.

Overall for the 2019 spring storms ROAD has installed 44 tarps and made 79 homes home again serving 114 disaster survivors who otherwise would not have been able to recover on their own. ROAD's Vocational Training Apprenticeship Program has provided 3,051 labor hours worth $70,020.45 in value.

Your extravagant generosity is what makes recovery happen for disaster survivors who have no means of recovery on their own.  Since 2018 ROAD has made it possible for volunteers to provide 29,445 hours of labor worth $672,936 of value serving 130 disaster survivors across 3 major disasters in Oklahoma.

You make a difference!  Support disaster survivors who are on the ROAD to recovery!
