Dorine, mother of four, whose husband long since abandoned the family, was born with a disability that requires her to use a crutch to walk, a tremendous challenge in the rough terrain of the Acholi Quarter. Having studied only up to the second grade equivalent, she struggled to provide for her family. Several years ago, through a grant from Project Have Hope, she graduated from a program to learn knitting. She has used this skill to make sweaters for school uniforms and for the chilly days of the rainy seasons. Recently, she was offered a job teaching at a local vocational training institute. She is excited for the opportunity to teach others this skill which has changed her life.
A donation of just $25 provides tuition for one term and gives a woman the power to build her own future.
