"People enjoying what I have made makes me feel valuable to the world."
Rose is a force to be reckoned with. A mother of 8, including two young twins, she is always thinking of ways to improve her children’s lives. She fled her homeland in Northern Uganda to keep them safe from violence. Now in the South, Rose’s priority is their education. She trained as a tailor to better support them and keep them all in school. She instills the value of education in her children. Despite the challenges they face, her oldest son, Moris, is top in his class and is attending one of the premier secondary schools in Kampala. Rose is determined to break the cycle of poverty which binds her. Once she is able to save enough money, she hopes to build a new home closer to their school, so they do not have to travel so far to learn.
As the holiday season approaches, consider giving the gift of empowerment.
A donation of just $25 provides tuition for one term and gives a woman the power to build her own future.
