A SKILL CAN CHANGE MORE THAN ONE LIFE.
When Judith learned to roll paper beads, she gained more than a new craft.
She gained a way to earn.
A way to feed her children.
A way to keep them in school.
And today, that opportunity is reaching the next generation.
Judith’s own education ended in Primary Four when her family could no longer afford school fees. Years later, after fleeing the war in Northern Uganda, she found herself working in a stone quarry to support her children.
Then she learned to make paper beads.
She mastered the skill, eventually rolling and stringing every bead herself so she could earn just a little more.
And a little more mattered.
A little more meant food.
A little more meant school.
A little more meant possibility.
Today, Judith continues to earn an income through her jewelry and farming. And her youngest daughter, Cecilia, has gone further in school than anyone else in her family.
She is now studying to become a nurse.
Cecilia dreams of one day opening a clinic in her village, where access to medical care is limited and families often have to travel long distances for help.
Judith already plans to give her a piece of her land to build it.
THIS IS THE POWER OF VOCATIONAL TRAINING.
A skill taught to one woman can create an income.
That income can educate a child.
That education can change a family.
And someday, that child may change an entire community.
Vocational training isn't simply about teaching someone how to sew, make jewelry, raise livestock, or start a small business.
It's about giving someone a skill they can build on for the rest of their life.
Judith did exactly that.
Paper became beads.
Beads became tuition.
Tuition is becoming a nurse.
And the impact is still unfolding.
For just $25, you can be a part of this impact.
